Coco Calling No.232 - The Best Thing Ever Invented by Humans: The Wonderful NHS

My owner’s wife has had successful surgery on her benign brain tumour and has now returned home to the flock. She still has a very sore head as her crest is being held in place by 27 metal staples. But apart from that, and some bruising and swelling, she’s doing really well. And that’s all down to the skill of the surgeon and the wonderful way she was looked after at that very large vets called the Derriford Hospital.

Human vets have very large flocks of people all working together for a common good. And that includes everyone from the tea ladies and cleaners through to the doctors and nurses. And in a large vets like the Derriford, there are many hundreds of them, representing humans of almost every culture, colour and creed. And it just goes to show what can be achieved when humans all come together to offer kindness and care to one another.

I know that some humans argue that their NHS is inefficient and wasteful, but I reckon it provides a model for how the entire human race should live together. Because even though it isn’t a Christian organisation, the NHS promotes the Christian values of love, compassion and care. And where you get those core values right, peace, harmony and good will inevitably follow. At least, that’s what your little feathered friend thinks…...
